Farm Education

On the Farm

After a very difficult Spring we have now finished sowing our Spring Barley and planting the potatoes, the crops are about 2-3 weeks behind normal.

The wet weather over the Winter and the cold Spring took its toll on some of our Winter crops, some of our Winter Wheat and Oilseed Rape needed ploughed up and we were forced to sow it again with Spring Barley , something that we have not had to do for a very long time.

Over the Summer we will be busy doing maintenance , painting doors, sorting farm roads, repairing shed roofs etc.  We also service the Claas Lexion combine, grain trailers and the grain dryer ready for the start of harvest which this year will probably be mid August.

Let's hope we get a long hot Summer we are all certainly due one.

Hope to see you all soon when visiting the Adventure Park.

Regards

Kerr
